Calloway, Head of School

Education:
Rev. Calloway holds an undergraduate and masters degree. He is
also a licensed and ordained minister.
Metrolina
Christian Academy, Head of School 1998—Present
MCA has grown from 320 students
(preschool and academy) in 1998 to over 1000 presently. God has
blessed our ministry so powerfully. We have seen over 600 young
people accept Christ as Lord and Savior over the last nine
years. Under Rev. Calloway’s leadership the school has been
granted a full seven year accreditation by the Association of
Christian Schools International (ACSI).

1990—2002
Under his leadership the
Singles Ministry has grown from a handful to one of the largest
singles ministries in the area. That ministry encompassed
singles of all ages and circumstances.

Mr. Ronnie
Plyler, Dean of Academics
Date of
Birth: April 4, 1969
Education:
Undergraduate Degree from the University of North Carolina at
Charlotte and Master’s Degree from Columbia International
University

Development
1997—Present
Mr. Plyler came to MCA in 1997
to implement an athletic program when 50 students made up the
middle school through ninth grade. As the school grew and
established its high school program, Mr. Plyler served in
several capacities from History teacher, Athletic Director, to
Secondary Principal for 6 years. Having the opportunity to
coach a variety of teams at MCA he’s been blessed to see 255
students graduate from MCA and go into missions as well as a
wide array of occupations. He has “no greater joy than to hear
that his children walk in truth” (III John 4). He has certainly
witnessed the changes God has brought to this ministry.

Mrs. Amy Hill, Lower
School Principal
Amy Hill, Lower School Principal, is a native
of Union County and has been on staff at MCA since 2004.
She has 17 years of educational experience. Amy’s passion
for children, her love for the Lord and her desire to
continually strive for excellence in the lower school is a
tremendous asset to our school. Mrs. Hill believes God is
a God of excellence and deserves only our best.

Mr. Danny
McDowell, Upper School Principal
Danny McDowell has a Master of
Education in Educational Leadership from Covenant College, a
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of
Houston, and Graduate Work in Bible from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary.
Danny served as the pastor of
several churches in Texas. He was the Head of School at
Brazosport Christian School in Lake Jackson, Texas. Danny
brings with him 14 years experience in Christian Education as he
starts the 2007-2008 school year as the Upper School principal
for Metrolina Christian Academy.

Mrs. Kathryn
Flowe, Upper School Vice-Principal
Kathryn Flowe
is passionate about sharing her love for Christ to students not
only in her words, but in her actions by treating students with
respect and kindness. Before coming to Metrolina Christian
Academy, Kathryn served as the Director of Education at several
local churches. In 2000, she first held the position of Middle
School teacher at Metrolina Christian Academy. Later, she worked
in the guidance office. Kathryn has served as the Middle School
Vice-Principal for the last two years. Kathryn has a B.S. in
Christian Education from East Coast Bible College.
Kathryn Flowe
has lived in the Charlotte area most of her life. She is
married, has three grown children and two grandchildren. In her
spare time Kathryn enjoys spending time with her family,
especially her grandchildren, and playing golf.

Mr. Jared Clark,
Athletic Director
Jared Clark’s passion is to use
athletics as a tool to build champions for Christ. Jared has
served as the Metrolina Christian Academy Athletic Director
since 2005. Jared also coaches the Varsity Boy’s Soccer and
the Varsity Girl’s Basketball teams.
Mr. Clark holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Marketing Management. Before coming to
Metrolina Christian Academy, he served as a teacher, coach and
assistant athletic director at a Christian school in Georgia.
Jared’s wife, Sara, teaches in the Upper School at MCA. His two
daughters Abby (4) and Avery (2) attend Metrolina Christian
Preschool. Jared’s hobbies include golf and watching the
Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Ms. Dana Bostic,
Director of Development
Dana Bostic has been associated
with MCA for over ten years. She served initially as a
volunteer in the athletic department then joined the MCA staff
in 2002 as the Director of Development.
Dana earned her BA in Education
and Master of Arts in Teaching, both from UNC-Chapel Hill. She
taught at Montreat College then pursed a business career that
included sales and training, purchasing, customer service and
management skills.
Dana uses her training,
experience and love for MCA to raise funds and organize events
to further the ministry.

Mrs. Carol
Walton, Director of Admissions
Carol Walton
has served Metrolina Christian Academy since 1997. As a parent
of a MCA Alumnus, she has first hand knowledge about the
admissions process and can personally testify about the
excellent Christian education that Metrolina offers.
Carol
believes that it is important for every interested family to
visit us during school hours so that they can experience the
nurturing, Christ-centered ministry of MCA.
