Why Choose MCA?
As a ministry of First Baptist Church of Indian
Trail, Metrolina Christian Academy offers a Christ-centered, high
quality academic environment for students and families. The faculty and
staff are committed to the students that God has entrusted us with.
The three-fold purpose statement of MCA says it
all:
Our first purpose is to promote the love of
Jesus:
- Sharing His good news in the classrooms and
in every other area of our school.
- Encouraging our students to be a light in the
world through service projects, outreach efforts, missions week,
spiritual emphasis week, athletics, and mission trips.
- Exciting, spirit-filled chapel services each
week.
- Praying for our students and families every
day.
- Classroom devotions and testimonies by
teachers and students.
Our second purpose is to pursue excellence
in the classroom:
- MCA is fully accredited by the Association of
Christian Schools International (ACSI)
- Our teachers and administration review
curriculum continually and update as deemed necessary.
- MCA teachers are offered continuing education
courses and are required to stay current on their certification with
ACSI. Our administration evaluates teachers/classes several times
each year.
- Our upper school is a college preparatory
school. Students in grades 9-12 meet regularly with their guidance
counselor to ensure a proper high school resume, leading to the
college and career of their choice.
- MCA has thirteen assistants to help our
teachers with the care of our students.
Our third purpose is to teamwork with
families and churches:
- MCA teachers are communicators, staying in
contact with our families to share concerns as well as victories. We
have also implemented the use of Edline, a user-friendly computer
communication tool, where parents are updated each time a teacher
posts a grade to their student’s account. Parents can also use
Edline to check assignments and upcoming events.
- Parents and grandparents are essential in
making MCA run properly. Many parents volunteer each week or for a
variety of events throughout the year.
- MCA invites local pastors and youth pastors
to share in chapel services and works with area churches through
student service projects.
MCA graduates are serving all across the world. We
have alumni serving as missionaries in several countries including India
and Italy, serving in our armed forces, and as police officers, college
professors, nurses, and teachers, just to name a few. Many of our alumni
are currently pursuing graduate degrees, and some are serving as godly
mothers and fathers, raising the next generation for Christ!
If you are praying about Christian education for
your child, please call to schedule a tour of our school. I believe that
you will feel God’s presence here as you walk through the hallways and
meet the faculty and staff of MCA.
His,
Carol Walton
