Spiritual Qualifications for Employment

Staff members are expected to be Christians and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Professional Qualifications for Employment

All K-12 faculty members are required to have at least a Bachelors Degree from an accredited university and complete the requirements for certification through ACSI.

Early Education

DEPARTMENT: Early Education

POSITION(s): Lead Teacher

JOB STATUS: Full Time, year round

MAJOR FUNCTION: The lead teacher is responsible for planning and executing the educational program in accordance with the purpose and goals of Metrolina Christian Academy.  They must be called to and have a passion for ministry with children.  The lead teacher must work in accordance with the goals and curriculum of MCA as well as work in partnership with the parents to encourage the highest level of growth and development for each child.  They must have basic knowledge of the physical and intellectual development with respect to the young child as well as experience in dealing appropriately with the preschool child on their level.  The lead teacher must be a mature Christian individual who endeavors to promote a loving environment and instill in each child a feeling of autonomy and positive self-concept. 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • HS Diploma
  • NCEEC EDU-119 (Early Childhood Credentials)
  • Early Education or Elementary Education degree preferred

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Teacher Assistant, under the Director of the Early Education program and/or Coordinators is to assist the Lead Teacher in any way needed to help provide a safe and caring environment for the children. She should love and care for the children and encourage them to be independent. She should support the lead teacher in supervision as well as curriculum and lesson plans. This position should be ready to assume the Lead Teacher’s role when she is absent.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • HS Diploma

MAJOR FUNCTION: Extended Care staff, under the Lower School Principal and Assistant Principal is to organize, supervise, and actively engage with students in a safe and caring environment. They should exhibit Christ-like leadership, provide exceptional customer service to students and their families, and use positive and constructive methods of discipline. Extended Care staff members may be asked to share scripture or lead in songs with students and must always be ready to share their faith with students.

MAJOR FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES: An Athletic Coach at Metrolina Christian seeks to honor God by promoting physical, mental, and spiritual growth through athletics. Coaches are responsible for motivating and teaching student-athletes to compete at their highest level while promoting team unity, enhancing individual skill, and ensuring the safety of athletes. Coaches will report directly to the Athletic Director and be asked to fulfill all obligations within the Metrolina Christian Academy Coaches’ Handbook.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Prior coaching experience is preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS:
