A Grateful Heart

This is a great week in the life of our school! We celebrate one of my favorite annual events tomorrow with Grandparents Day. What a blessing the grandparents of our students are to me personally! I also love our annual Night of the Arts in which our students showcase their many artistic talents. All of the festivities begin tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the main sanctuary. I appreciate all that our manipulative and performing arts faculty have done to grow our Fine Arts program here at MCA. Growing the arts at our school has become one of my major areas of focus.

Today we also open our new baseball field with a game at 4:00 p.m. After 2 and ½ years all four fields are finally complete. I want to say a big thank you to so many who have contributed their time and their resources to make this complex a reality.

I do not know about you but sometimes I need little reminders of how grateful I need to be for all that God has done for me. Isaiah 51:1 declares: "Listen to me, you that follow after righteousness, you that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence you are hewn, and to the pit whence you are digged. "This verse reminds that I need to remember on a more regular basis just exactly where God has brought me from and all that He has done for me and be thankful.

As I spent time with God this week, I reflected so much on how grateful I am for all that He has done in the lives of our students and school. I am so thankful that God has allowed me to be a part of this place. I thank God because He could have chosen someone a whole lot smarter than me to lead here and I would have missed the blessings that I have received from being a part of your lives.

I also began to thank God for all that He has done for me personally. He rescued me from my hole of sin and gave me a new life and a new purpose. He has blessed me with an incredible wife, incredible children, and birthed me into the home of the best parents anyone could ask for.

I pray that God will use this verse in Isaiah to remind you today of all that God has done in your life and just exactly where He has brought you from.
