Biblical Parenting

Over the next few weeks, I want to share some insight from God’s Word that I pray will be a blessing to you as you strive to raise Godly kids. The strategy that I want to share with you is best remembered with the acronym “TRAIN”.  “TRAIN” is a Biblically-based strategy for raising children to be spiritual champions. The “T” in “TRAIN” stands for Transcendent Purpose and Big Picture. This part of the strategy calls for us to give our children Something and Someone bigger than ourselves to live for. In other words, we want to teach our children that God has a purpose and a plan for our lives and that life is all about following His agenda.

2 Corinthians 4:18 is the foundational scripture of the “T” part of the strategy. It declares: “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporary; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Using this verse as a focus, we can seek to give our kids a global and eternal view of life so that they might live for someone and something bigger than themselves.

In addition, the “T” part of the strategy provides us the platform to instill in our kids that there is absolute truth in life and that truth comes from God. Also, we want to teach our children that the greatest honor of life is to serve and meet the needs of others.

If we can utilize the “T” part of the strategy in raising our children, then we can help them to better find their purpose in life as God designed it especially for them. I am confident that when they do so that they will find the “abundant life” that Jesus promised to each of us.

Finally, we are continuing to focus on many improvement projects for our school in the coming months. We have been busy meeting with playground experts as we looking at major upgrades to our playgrounds as the school year progresses. Also, we are looking at continuing to expand technology integration on our campus as we plan for the purchase and implementation of iPad labs later this fall. We completed Wi-Fi installation in the summer and will begin to utilize many more tools for technology integration in the near future.

We are committed as a school to continual improvement in all that we do because our students deserve our best everyday! So, in keeping with advancing our technology, thanks to Brandon Reeves and Bob Mayberry Hyundai, we will be giving away an iPad Mini at the halftime of tonight’s 7pm game. One contest entry per game ticket. You must be present to win.

Thanks for your support and love!
