None Like Us

August 23, 2013
By Rev. Rick Calloway

My heart’s desire is that when I am gone from this earth that my children would describe me to others as a man who walked with God and loved God more than anything else. I am still a work in progress but I do have this desire in my heart to follow God passionately.

I would love to have said of me that which was said of King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18:5-6. The Bible says there that “He trusted in the Lord God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. For he drew close to the Lord, and departed not from Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord commanded Him.”

I also am praying that what was said about Hezekiah in 2 Kings 18 would be said about our school that there is “none like us”. That we would always be a school that is distinctly Christian in all we do and we be a people who seek to cling to the Lord and do not depart from following Him.

Someone once said that “revival is the exchange of the form of Godliness for its living power.” I want to be the kind of person that God can trust with revival. Would you join me in praying for our school to be a place this school year where our students, families, and staff will experience the living power of our great God?  I am so excited for all that God is going to accomplish on our campus this year.

One of the greatest ministries on our campus each year is our prayer ministry led by Bill and Sandy Reule. I encourage you to use this ministry as prayer needs arise in your life and also to participate by lifting others up in prayer. This ministry will bless you and your family.

I hope that as you were on campus this first week of school that you took notice of the many campus improvements that we have made over the summer. Our focus this year will be to continue these improvements to our program as the year progresses. Our plans include the upgrading of our playgrounds, the purchase of mobile iPad labs, academic and fine arts enhancements, and so much more. We are committed as a school to the continual improvement of our program so as to enhance our students’ educational experience.

Finally, I encourage you to come out and support all of our Warrior athletic teams this fall. I love seeing all the fall sports and the gifted athletes in each who bring God glory in their efforts. Our first football game is tonight at Hickory Grove. I hope to see you there!
