MCA Prayer Week

September 18, 2014
By Rev. Rick Calloway

What a great week the Lord is giving us this week! God has truly been at work in the lives of our students during Upper School Spiritual Emphasis Week. We have another great opportunity next week to honor the Lord through our school's first ever "Prayer Week."

Prayer has always been a priority in our school but next week we will be focused all week long on specific prayer themes. What makes this even more special is that our high school students have worked hard to plan and coordinate the week. Below are the prayer themes for each day:

Military Monday - John 15:13

  • Wear Red, White & Blue!
  • Pray for our military!

Teacher Tuesday - Romans 12:6-8

  • Pray for our Teachers!
  • Teachers will be sharing their personal testimony during class devotions. Bible teachers will give students time to write a prayer to a teacher (school or church) that has made an impact on their lives.

 SYAPT* & Warrior Wednesday - Isaiah 43:1

  • Wear MCA colors
  • Pray for MCA!

Thankful Thursday - Psalm 136:1

  • Give Thanks to the Lord for all your blessings!
  • Lower school students during Bible class will have the opportunity to write what they are thankful for on the ROCK!
  • Upper school students will have the opportunity to purchase an angel food cupcake as a gift for someone they are thankful for during lunch today!

*See You at the Pole (SYATP) will be separated into two times due to our staggered start times for school this year. Both Lower School and Middle School students and parents are invited to meet at 7:40am at the flag pole between the Lower School building and the FLC for a time of prayer. All high school students and parents are invited for a time of prayer at 8:10am. Parents, please join us at one of these times if you are able!

We ask that our parents join us each day in praying specifically for the themes above. I ask that you set aside time especially on Wednesday to pray for our school. We are asking God to do great things in the lives of our staff and students. I also ask that you pray that God gives me wisdom daily as I seek to lead our school to be all that God has designed it to be.

James 5:16 tells us that: "The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

We look forward to all that the Lord will do on our campus as we focus on calling out to Him in prayer!
