Announcement about Friday, October 31

October 27, 2014
By Rev. Rick Calloway

Friday October 31st is a special and unique night at MCA. It is our last regular season home football game, Senior Night, and of course the day referred to as Halloween. We play Hickory Grove Christian School, which will make it a great night. Because of the time of year, there will be some guidelines for costumes to ensure everyone has a great time.

The following guidelines apply to all Upper School students and visitors:

       No masks
No fake weapons of any type - swords, bow and arrows, guns, etc.
No attire to mock or ridicule the opposing team
No Witches, Goblins, Zombies or other evil villain-type costumes
All costumes must be modest and appropriate
No trench coats or other coverings that could conceal items
All costumes should be of a positive nature and honoring to the Lord
Administration has the right to refuse admission to anyone based on costume or attitude

Elementary students can wear masks provided they are of a positive nature.

Romans 12:21, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Halloween can be a controversial day for Christians, but this verse reminds us of a Christian philosophy to address this day. We are planning Friday evening to be a fun night where all can have a great time.

If you have any questions concerning these guidelines, please call the Upper School office.
