"That the generation to come might know Him..." Psalm 78:6

2016-17 Student Service Projects

TK:  TK participated in a ministry called Car Window Poetry. This ministry was started by MCA Alumni, Alex Lewis. Our students wrote encouraging poems that were later distributed to people in our community by way of their car windows.

Kindergarten: Kindergarten ministered to the FBCIT Boomers & Beyond worship group by making them Valentine Cards and special bookmarks.  They also sang songs and fellowshipped with them at their annual Valentines Banquet.

First Grade: First grade students made Salvation Bead Bracelets for our MCA Guatemala Mission team to use as they spread the gospel in June 2017.

Second Grade: The second grade students went caroling at the mall to spread good tidings and good cheer at Christmas.

Third Grade: The third grade class had a wonderful time visiting with the residents of Brookdale Assisted Living throughout the year. The students shared hand-made crafts, read Scripture, sang for and fellowshipped with the residents.

Fourth Grade: The fourth grade students visited The Closet Ministry in Monroe. The Closet is a clothes closet that provides clothes for families in the Monroe area. The students helped sort, fold and organize in their large clothes closet.

Fifth Grade: Fifth graders collected aluminum can pop-tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Charlotte. Each 1lb provides a one night stay and a meal for families as their loved ones are cared for at one of our local hospitals.

Sixth Grade: The sixth grade ministered to the FBCIT Boomers & Beyond worship group by making cards and gifts for them throughout the year.

Seventh Grade: Seventh grade students served at the H.E.L.P. Crisis Pregnancy center in Monroe by sorting clothes for their community clothes closet and organizing food in their community pantry.

Eighth Grade: Eighth grade gave back to MCA by washing our school buses.

Ninth Grade: The ninth graders packed sandwiches for the Union County Community Shelter. They also helped Heart for Monroe prepare for the Easter Gathering at the Hill. The Gathering is an informal, outdoor worship service created to reach the lost in Monroe. A group of ninth graders also went and served at Samartian's Feet as well as Crisis Pregnancy Center.

Tenth Grade: MCA tenth grade students made posters to encourage other Union County elementary students to finish their school year strong. Tenth Graders also helped sort and pack canned goods for FBCIT's food drive.

Eleventh Grade: Eleventh graders potted pansies and wrote notes of encouragement for Title 1 school teachers in Union County.

12th Grade: MCA Senior students sorted and packed shoeboxes at the Operation Christmas Child warehouse in December. They also assisted in packing back pack meals for NC Food for Families, which provides weekend meals for local Union County students.

Christian Leadership: This group of students read with the two-year-olds through K4 each week.

Lower School Student Council: Lower School Student Council members assisted during our annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast. They also wrote notes of encouragement to our US Military.

MCA Afterschool Program: Our afterschool program partnered with the FBCIT Military Ministry and made care packages to send to deployed US Military.
