SPECIAL EVENTS.....THE CORNERSTONE FUND 2010-11

The Cornerstone Fund continues to be MCA’s first fundraising priority each year. This is because the gifts have an immediate impact. The funds raised are utilized during the same year in which they are given. The faith goal for the 2010-11 Cornerstone Fund is $250,000. The money raised will be invested, by percentage, in the following areas:

• Capital Improvements - 40%  (provides for building, maintenance and upgrades to MCA campus)
• Michael T. Whitson Tuition Assistance Fund - 25%  (Established in honor of Rev. Whitson, the senior pastor of First Baptist Chruch Indian Trail, this fund provides tuition assistance to MCA families who need short term financial aid during the school year.
• Unrestricted - 35%  (enables the school to use the funds where the greatest needs exist on campus - academics, technology, fine arts, library, athletics, professional development for faculty, etc.)
  
  The Cornerstone Fund calendar runs in conjunction with the school’s fiscal year – July 1st through June 30th.

SPECIAL EVENTS
MCA hosts several special events each year to raise funds for school programs and enhancements, as well as budget and resource needs. Although the timing and the event may change slightly each year, the purpose of each event remains the same – to promote school unity and to raise money for this unique and special ministry in Union County. All events offer opportunities for tax-deductible giving since MCA, as a ministry of First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, is a 501©(3) non-profit organization.
