THE CORNERSTONE KICK-OFF 2010
Monday, September 20 - Friday, October 15
We ask every MCA family to prayerfully consider making a financial donation to the school during the four-week period of the Kick-Off.  When you give to grow the ministry at MCA, the dividends do not stop.  YOur investment in Kingdom education is multiplied many times over in the lives of our young people and in the generations to come.

“That the generation to come might know Him…” Psalm 78:6

Dear Metrolina Christian Families and Friends:

As we begin this school year, God has gripped my heart with two issues so strongly. First, He has reminded me of how grateful we should be for all He has done for us. I do not ever want to get over the fact that He gave us Jesus, put His Spirit within us, and gave us eternal life. He has reminded me that every day is a gift and every moment is a precious treasure. I am thankful that He gave me the opportunity to be at MCA and to have crossed paths these years with so many wonderful students and families. My life has been enriched because of this experience.

The second issue that God has stirred in my heart is a call on my life and for this school to prepare and challenge students to do whatever it takes to change the culture in which we live for Christ. Our world is indeed a mess and it would be easy to get discouraged at times. However, I am excited that God has called us much like Esther in the Old Testament to make a difference in “such as time as this.” The world around us is hurting and in need of a God in their lives who can make a difference. Therefore, I am more passionate than ever to prepare our students to be all that God planned for them. I am so excited and convinced that God wants to use our kids to change this culture for Him.

My prayer is that we would never become complacent or satisfied in what we do as a school but would instead continue to look to God for direction in improving our program and making a bigger difference for His Kingdom.

One of the ways in which we can answer the call of God to leave a legacy here at MCA is through participation in the annual Cornerstone Fund. For the last eight years, the Cornerstone Fund has provided so much for the enhancement of our program at MCA. The Cornerstone Fund has provided student resources, furnishings, transportation, athletic equipment, technology, fine arts resources, and more. It has also helped many of our families who have developed short term financial needs continue their child’s education until they are able to get back on their feet. In recent days, I have personally been blessed by how the Cornerstone has helped so many families who have had temporary setbacks from the turbulent economic times in which we live.  Please take a moment to review the Annual Report for last year’s Cornerstone Fund (2008-09). It provides information regarding how much was raised last year and how those funds were invested in MCA and our students.

Once again, it is time to ‘kick-off’ the annual Cornerstone Fund. Please read the enclosed information regarding this year’s Kick-Off event. If you have questions, please call our Development Director, Dana Bostic, at 704.882.3375. I ask you to pray and seek the Lord about how you might be involved and give to the Cornerstone Fund. Parents asked me for years not to sell candy and gift wrap. I was told that parents would rather make a contribution than sell merchandise. The Cornerstone Fund is the out growth of your request.

With the Cornerstone Fund, we are exposing our needs to God’s people and asking Him to move on your hearts to make a difference in Christian education.  Take a few moments to read the Cornerstone Fund Brochure to complete the Donor Card and return the card with your gift to the Development Office. Gifts of any size are a blessing, as each one will make a difference in the life of a child for the cause of Christ.  All we ask is that you seek the Lord as to how He can use you to help us further this ministry and His kingdom.  Please remember that no gift is too small.

Thank you for investing in Metrolina Christian Academy and our students. Thank you for believing in us. I cannot wait to see how God is going to bless us this school year.

Because of Him,
