Curriculum & Instruction
MCA’s Lower School provides each child with opportunities to explore the world of ideas that God has created for them while being encouraged in a loving and Christ-centered atmosphere. Teachers are committed to understanding the design of each child so they can adequately prepare the instructional strategies to meet individual learning styles. Various teaching methods are implemented in the classroom to create a lively and engaging environment where learning is expected to be fun. Metrolina Christian Academy’s Lower School division serves students in Kindergarten (5 years old as of September 15th) through fifth grade.

K – 3rd grade learn in self-contained classrooms while fourth and fifth grade are taught through a team-teaching design.

The IOWA achievement test is administered in the spring of each year.
Teach to Equip
Teach to Equip is MCA's strategic and intentional plan to equip students with a Biblical Worldview through the curriculum utilized, instructional methodology implemented, and professional development training provided to instructional staff. Teach to Equip includes professional development, which is designed to foster and promote growth, improvement, learning in the areas of curriculum, instructional methods, assessments, social and emotional learning, and Biblical integration.
