Steps to Admission

Priority applications for Kindergarten are due by December 31, 2024. Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a rolling admissions basis where grade level space permits. Please see the application process steps below. (Click to download the Kindergarten Application Process)

• Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open on October 14, 2024. Submit an application for each child with a $250 non-refundable fee on or before December 31, 2024. Students should be five years old by August 31, 2025 to apply for Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. Once the application is processed, parents can view the admissions checklist in the online application portal.
   
• Supporting documents are due by January 15, 2025. Required materials include birth certificate, medical report, immunization record, and paperwork related to modifications or accommodations, if applicable (i.e psychoeducational evaluations, IEP, 504 plan, etc). Timely receipt of these materials supports an efficient process for both the student and Metrolina Christian Academy.
   

• A standardized admissions screening is one tool used to determine the best placement for each Kindergarten applicant. After an application has been submitted and all supporting documents have been received, families will be contacted to schedule a screening. 

• After an application has been received the admissions office will schedule a 30-minute on-campus family meeting. Visits occur November through February. Families will meet with an admissions representative and/or lower school administration. This conversation is an opportunity to learn more about Metrolina Christian Academy and share your goals for the next step in your student’s educational journey.
   
• Admissions decisions for completed Kindergarten applications with all required documents will be emailed on February 28, 2025.

*To be considered in the first round of decisions, applications must be received and files completed by the deadlines listed above. After these dates, Metrolina Christian Academy will maintain rolling admissions where grade level space permits.

• Once an applicant’s file materials are complete, a family interview will be scheduled if there is space available in the grade level applied for. This conversation is an opportunity to learn more about Metrolina Christian Academy and share your goals for the next step in your student’s educational journey.
   
• Admissions decisions for completed applications for Pathways Grades 1 - 11 with all required documents will be emailed on March 28, 2025.

Early Education applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open on February 1, 2025. Priority applications are due by March 1, 2025. Applications submitted after this date will be considered on a rolling admissions basis where space permits. Please see the application process steps below. • Submit an application for each child with a $150 non-refundable fee on or before March 1, 2025. Once the application is processed, parents can view the admissions checklist in the online application portal. To apply for the 2025-2026 school year:
  • For the Two Year Old program, children should be two years old by August 31, 2025
  • For the K3 program, children should be three years old by August 31, 2025
  • For Jr. Kindergarten, children should be four years old by August 31, 2025
     
• Supporting documents are due by March 7, 2025. Required materials include birth certificate, medical report, immunization record, and any previous testing/services, if applicable (i.e SLP, OT, PT etc.). 
   
• After an application has been received the admissions office will schedule a 30-minute on-campus family meeting. Families will meet with an admissions representative and/or early education administration. This conversation is an opportunity to learn more about Metrolina Christian Academy and share your goals for the next step in your student’s educational journey.
   
• Admissions decisions for completed applications for Early Education applicants (Two Years Old - Jr. Kindergarten) with all required documents will be emailed on March 28, 2025.

MCA is fully accredited with the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and AdvancED/SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). Our teachers are degreed and have certification through ACSI.

Metrolina offers quality education designed to meet students at varying levels including:

• Early Education serve 2 years old through 4 years old
• The Academy serves grades Kindergarten through 12th grade
• Academic Support is available for students with academic challenges
• Our Pathways Program offers specialized instruction for children with more extensive learning challenges
• Programs for academically gifted students include:
  • Learning Enrichment Activities Program (Lower School)
  • Advanced Math and Foreign Language (Middle School)
  • Honors and South Piedmont Community College Courses (High School)

Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade are primary entrance points. We do accept students in other grades, but acceptances are based on available space, which is limited in grades where we do not grow enrollment. We grow class size in Kindergarten, 6th grade, and 9th grade. 

For our Pathways Program, we will be growing class size in 1st-5th grade. We do accept students in other grades, but acceptances are based on available space, which is limited in grades where we do not grow enrollment.

Siblings of current MCA students are given priority consideration for available openings.

Metrolina Christian Academy is home to 41 athletic teams for students in grades 6-12. Our Warrior athletic teams promote physical, mental, and spiritual growth for our student athletes. Athletics provide an opportunity to honor and glorify God through excellence, self-discipline, sacrificial teamwork, and outstanding sportsmanship. MCA is a member of the North Carolina Independent School Athletic Association (NCISAA) and our division is 4A. We have been blessed with thirteen buses used for field trips and transporting athletic teams. We do not provide transportation to and from school.

With a large number of prospective students each year, the number of applicants can exceed the number of seats available in a designated grade level for the upcoming school year. Our goal is to maintain optimal class size in each grade level. If space is not available for the year applied, the application will be placed in the wait pool. We will keep families in the wait pool posted if space becomes available. Please note that we always welcome students to reapply for the next school year if we have not been able to offer them admission from the wait pool, as applications will not roll over to the subsequent academic year.
