Music and Drama Extravaganza Camp

In Music and Drama Extravaganza, students will receive training through group and individual instruction. Interactive learning and improvisation will foster creativity and build confidence to peak musical and theatrical interest in novices, while challenging and refining those students who are gifted in the performance arts. The week will culminate in a performance showcasing the students’ talents on Friday, July 10 at 2 p.m. in the Sossamon Chapel. For questions, please email Judy Anbro or call 704.882.3375.

Instructor:                           Verna Clark, MCA

About the instructor:  Mrs. Verna Clark joined the MCA staff as a full-time teacher in 2017, was the director of MCA’s 2018 production of Meet Me in St. Louis, the music director for MCA’s 2019 production of Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and is the current co-director for The Sound of Music. Besides her commitment to MCA, Mrs. Clark is also a private vocal and piano teacher. She holds an MME degree from Winthrop University. She has served as a past Fine Arts director, taught music and drama for several years, directed numerous shows, and has been a vocal and theatre coach for students at both state and national levels.  Last year’s Summer Music and Drama Extravaganza was a huge success with the production of The Pirates of Penzance!
