Students in Action
MCA students are continually learning to model Jesus' life of servant leadership by investing in the lives of others. Project Serve allows the students this opportunity by:
- developing within each student a heart for Christian service.
- providing each student an experience of impacting the lives of others.
- impacting and showing the love of Christ to our community.
Lower School students (TK-5th) and Middle School students (6th – 8th) participate in group service projects with their grade level each semester, and Upper School students (9th-12th) are involved in group service projects through their Bible classes. Athletic teams and Extra-Curricular groups participate in service projects as well.
This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
- 2 Corinthians 9:12
"We are so thankful for our ongoing partnership with Metrolina Christian Academy this school year. In a time where we were forced to rethink what ministry on the mission field looks like, MCA came alongside Heart for Monroe providing prayer, resources, and volunteers. Together, we followed God’s lead on how to serve and love on our community in new ways.
Thanks to MCA students, more than 27,000 pounds of groceries were packed for senior adults and families in need in our community. These bags also included beautiful handwritten notes with scripture and encouraging thoughts. Warrior families also generously donated over 3,200 pounds of food for our Feed 500 Thanksgiving Food Drive.
Determined not to let our Reading Buddy mentoring opportunities stop, Metrolina students turned into MCA Reading Warriors. They filmed virtual Reading Buddy videos, created 100 tie-together reading blankets, and donated books, all to encourage Union County Public School students to keep reading.
When we launched our Follow Your Heart Fitness Program for UCPS students, Metrolina stepped up again. MCA families donated more than 4,300 items to give to students including: chalk, bubbles, balls, jump ropes, and kites. These fitness bags, which also includes healthy snacks, have gone out to 500+ children in our community.
Metrolina Christian Academy has truly displayed the heart behind Romans 12:9-10. Putting God’s love into action is what it’s all about and we can’t imagine doing it without the support and collaboration of the Warriors."
